How to Accurately Measure for Your Cabinet Estimate
To get an accurate cabinet estimate, follow these steps to measure your room:
Measure the Length of Each Wall:
Measure the length of every wall where you plan to have your cabinets installed.
Measure for Tall Cabinets:
For tall cabinets, measure the height to calculate the linear feet.
For Cabinet Runs Over 8' High or Double-Stacked Cabinets:
Measure the linear feet twice for runs over 8 feet high or if you’re planning double-stacked cabinets.
Add Total Linear Feet for Cabinetry:
Add up the measurements for each cabinet run.
For walls with both base and upper cabinets, include the linear feet for both sections in your total.
Example: If you have a 10' section with both upper and lower cabinets, the total linear feet would be 20 feet.
Note Additional Features:
Be sure to include any additional features such as vent hoods, shelves, or accessories in your notes. (Some options may need to be calculated separately.)
Once you have your measurements, materials, door style, drawer count, and accessories chosen, simply input the totals into the Calculator for an estimate.
